Youth Leadership Training
Leadership for the 21st Century...Starts
Today, With Your Young Adults
Do your students wonder why some people are able
to achieve great things? Why certain people appear to be positive,
productive and respected by their peers? Why some people have leadership
qualities that the rest look up to and follow? Do they wonder how
they do it? Do they ever imagine themselves as that leader?!?
ICL’s "Leadership for the 21st
Century" training program is interested in questions like these,
and in helping students explore and find their own answers. It does
so by providing an active learning format that focuses on specifically
what it takes to be an effective, contributing, and skillful leader.
By carefully examining a lot of very important leadership information,
ideas, and skills – and putting students into activities,
experiences, and discussions from which they can learn a great deal
– your students will have the chance to understand the skills
and abilities of effective leaders, and how to develop those qualities
in themselves.

The Leadership for the 21st Century training program focuses on 10 areas
that we believe to be important to the leadership process. The format
we use to cover these areas is varied, engaging, and relevant.
Through cooperative challenge tasks (inside and outside), students learn
valuable lessons in the give-and-take of problem-solving and effective
communicating; though group dialoguing sessions they learn how to give
and receive feedback and appreciate a diversity of perspectives; through
the artistic process they will create visions of new and desired futures;
through reflective journaling they decide which behaviors and patterns
are worth keeping and which new ones need to be established. These represent
important skills, knowledge and traits of a successful leader.
We know that your students will benefit from the Leadership for the 21st
Century training experience. The goal of the program is to empower your
young adults with the kind of knowledge and skills they will need to create
the kind of life they want, and to make their role in the 21st century
one of positive leadership.
Should you be interested in further information, I would welcome your
call.
