Sustainable Leadership Training,
Then and Now
Founded in 1974 in response to cultural upheavals of the time, ICL’s vision was to explore and address leadership training, diversity training and relationship building through innovative and impactful indoor and outdoor experiences. A $50,000 grant from The George Gund Foundation helped establish ICL as a nonprofit in its early years.
While times and people have changed since then, the need to learn in meaningful and adventurous ways persists. We continue to use our proven and time-tested methods to enhance people connections, develop leaders, build teams and inspire action all at the same time.
We’ve also evolved over the years. With a greater focus on businesses and organizations, we deliver programs that strengthen leaders and build more cohesive, collaborative teams. Our work helps to create and sustain businesses, corporations, nonprofits and other organizations that help contribute to and advance the region.
